Sunrisers Hyderabad were trounced by Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets in Match 23 of this season’s IPL. Chennai Super Kings were in top gear yet again with the bat as they chased down 172 against Sunrisers Hyderabad with ease.
In a post-match Press Conference SRH Skipper David Warner said : “I take full responsibility for the way I batted, it was really slow, found a lot of fielders and I got frustrated.” Sunrisers Hyderabad lost two consecutive matches and are relinquishing at the bottom of the table with just 2 points from 6 matches. SRH has a very grim chances of moving to the playoffs.
Rajasthan Royals on the other hand are also coming out of a defeat against Mumbai Indians by seven wickets. Batting first after losing the toss, RR posted a competitive 171 for 4 on the board. It could have been a fighting total but did not turn out to be so as Mumbai Indians eased their way to victory in the match. They won by seven wickets with nine balls to spare. RR never really looked in the hunt in MI’s chase despite putting up an efficient total on the board.

Similarly, Jos Buttler started off well and passed the tough phase with the new ball but was deceived by a googly from Rahul Chahar.

David Warner scored a hard-fought half-century but struggled to time the ball. Took 55 balls for his 57. Hit only three fours and two sixes. Could not get any momentum into his or SRH’s innings. Warner struggled for timing all innings and scored his slowest IPL fifty.
Kane Williamson played an excellent cameo of 26 not out from 10, smashing four fours and a six to lift SRH at the end.
Manish Pandey marked his comeback to the team against MI with a fluent half-century. Top scored with 61 from 46, hitting five fours and a six.
Kedar Jadhav smashed an unbeaten 12 in only four balls, with one four and a six. Got some much required runs for SRH at the end.
Y Jaiswal perished for 32 and could not make much of the chance that he got against MI after getting a start.
David Miller and Riyan Parag came to bat at the flag end of the RR innings and remained not out on 7 and 8 respectively against Mumbai Indians.

Shivam Dube reached in the 30s and played no shot of J Bumrah and perished for 35 in 31 balls. With the ball in-hand he gave away 6 runs in a single over that he bowled.
C Morris was the best bowler for RR on the day where he took 2 wickets in his 4 over spell and gave away 37 runs at an economy of 8.25.
R Tewatia did not have the best day he failed to take wicket against MI and accounted for 30 runs in his 3 overs.

Rashid Khan picked up all three CSK wickets to fall on the day. Was taken for a few runs as there was no pressure of the run rate, but did well to keep coming back with wickets.
Sandeep Sharma was economical but couldn’t break through. Bowled his 3.3 overs for 24 runs against CSK.
Khaleel Ahmed did not get any wickets. Conceded 36 runs in his four overs.
Jagadeesha Suchith went for plentywas hammered brutally by CSK openers. Conceded 45 runs in his three overs, without picking a wicket.
Sandeep Sharma was economical but couldn’t break through. Bowled his 3.3 overs for 24 runs.
Chetan Sakariya was the most economical for RR against MI. With the economy rate of 6 including 6 dot balls Sakariya kept the things tight.
In four overs Jaydev Unadkat, gave away only 33 runs with 7 dot balls against Mumbai.
Mustafizur Rahman has been hard to get away in the tournament. The same was the case in the match against MI as he gave 37 runs in 3.3 overs and got the wicket of K Pandya.
