Brooklyn Nets vs Milwaukee Bucks Prediction and Odds: Preview
Defending champions Milwaukee Bucks will have their task cut out when they face Brooklyn to warm up for the season. Coming to the new season the Bucks are tipped to maintain their momentum as they lifted the NBA title last season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was a revelation last season for the Bucks as he racked up 28.1 points per game, 5.9 assists per game and 1.2 blocks per game.
The reigning champions will only have a bit more than 90 days before their season opener against Brooklyn on 20 October. Giannis has been nursing an injury and it remains to be seen whether he gets his chance in the game or not. The 26-year-old Greek is one of the highest-paid players in the NBA and Milwaukee will be relying on him a lot this upcoming season.
Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer said the player needs to have a check on his body.
I think it’s fair to say there’s still a ramp-up phase. Today is really just his first time practicing and to include some five-on-five. We’ll see how he responds and plan each day kind of accordingly.”
The player himself too gave an update on his injury.
I practiced today. My first practice was good. The team looked good. I felt good. I gotta get up to date with the guys. They’re 10 speeds ahead of me but I feel good. Things look really, really good for me now. I’m getting back healthy. I’m feeling good so I’m excited.”

Brooklyn has managed to shore up their defence with a number of new signings as they now have Blake Griffin, Jeff Green, Nicolas Claxton, LaMarcus Aldridge, Paul Millsap, James Johnson and Sekou Doumbouya in their ranks.
The Nets had to end their season on a sad note as they lost to Bucks in the game 7 in overtime. Kevin Durant did play his part but couldn’t cope up well as they went on to lose the game.
Added to that, Kyrie Irving wasn’t a part of the practice squad on Tuesday and it is not clear whether he wants to get the vaccine or not.
New York has a strong rule in place that players or athletes who intents to play or practice in the city need to be vaccinated. The team management is yet to take a decision whether to allow him or not.
Head coach Steve Nash ruled out any possibilities to shift the practice outside the city for Irving.
We support him, we’re here for him. When things change and there’s a resolution, we’re here for him.”
If Irving does not get the vaccine he is set to lose to the tune of $380,000 per match. His contract for the entire 2021-22 season is estimated to be $35.3m.
Nets would definitely want Irving to concentrate on the court as they do have a realistic chance to make it all the way.
