Man City vs PSG Prediction and Odds: Man City to overcome Lionel Messi’s PSG
Manchester City will host Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League at Etihad Stadium.
PSG claimed an important win over City in the last leg in the Champions League. Idrissa Gueye opened the scoring in the 8th minute and then Lionel Messi ensured all three points with a 74th minute winner.
Pep Guardiola’s men dashed PSG’s Champions League hopes last season when they got the better of the French outfit over a two legged fixture in the semifinals.

Man City vs PSG Prediction and Odds: Preview
The defeat was Manchester City’s first group stage defeat since their loss to another French giant Lyon back in 2018. This was Messi’s first goal as a PSG player since his signing from Barcelona on a free transfer.
City lost the momentum with a shocking 2-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace in the Premier League. But they thumped Club Brugge 4-1 and displayed their title credentials with a statement win over neighbour Manchester United.
The disappointing loss in the Champions League final is still fresh in their memories and they need to bring that consistency into this tournament.
In a major boost to City, Guardiola’s former disciple Neymar is likely to miss this clash. The former Barcelona star didn’t feature in World Cup Qualifier against Argentina and is not in contention at this moment.
He reportedly has an issue in his left leg and underwent scans that revealed damage in his adductor muscles. Although Mauricio Pochettino does have a plethora of attacking talents with the likes of Messi at his disposal but missing would dent PSG’s chances to some extent.
Guardiola doesn’t seem to be missing a number nine as he has been using the false nine position with utmost success. He has used Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Ferran Torres and even Kevin De Bruyne in that position.
City was linked with a move for England captain Harry Kane but Tottenham Hotspur refused to budge on to their demands. City’s failure to lure him to the club proved to be their gains as Gabriel Jesus has had a very productive season so far having been shifted to the flanks by the gaffer.
Sergio Ramos might be introduced in the lineup against City. The former Real Madrid defender joined the French club in the summer on a free transfer from Real Madrid but he is yet to feature for the French club.
There were rumours of him being released from his contract but the player’s recovery has progressed rapidly and he is now ready to make his feet talking. The former Barcelona defender has been included in the matchday squad and could finally make his debut against Manchester City in the Champions League.
Neymar could be rested against Nantes in the Ligue-1 as he has a chance to make it to the City clash.
It remains to be seen whether Pochettino opts for Gianluigi Donnarumma or keeps his regular keeper Keylor Navas in between the sticks.
Donnarumma too joined the club on a free transfer from AC Milan but has been involved in seven matches in all competitions so far. He made his Champions League debut for PSG against City and kept a clean sheet.
The goalkeeper is reportedly not happy with his limited game time but the situation could change when they travel to the United Kingdom next week.
Lionel Messi found his rhythm and scored his first Ligue 1 goal against Nantes in the last match. If he is on song City will have a tough task to cut out.
